Artist:  Aida Garrity

Aida began her artistic career at age 6. Her main artistic goal is to produce art that would captivate people’s eyes.

She is in the process of earning a Masters of Fine Arts from the Academy of Arts in San Francisco . Her expected graduation date will be the fall of 2010. Her work has been exhibited in several local shows, where they have garnered high praise and won a variety of awards. She is a member of the Portrait Society of America , Dublin Art League, Worthington Art League and Ohio Plein Air.

Aida’s statement consists of creating Classically-Realistic inspired painting finely conceived and executed. “Classical” because my work tends to exhibit a preference for order, beauty, harmony, and completeness. “Realistic” because its basic vocabulary comes from the representation of nature.

In my paintings, I like undertaking the challenge of crafting a composition containing elements that will transmit a story to the viewer. Capturing the mood of the model together with his/her situation and environment is what makes the work of an artist to be so exciting.
