Below are Tracy's comments about the show.:
The show was very difficult to judge because of the abundance of
quality work. I regret I couldn’t include more pieces to receive
awards.
For Best of Show I chose “Axis Mundi (The World Tree)” by Jean
Williams. It is an amazing piece that is a wonder to to observe. It
is well-planned and expertly executed. I salute the artist’s
patience and tenacity.
Catherine Konicsak’s piece “Deerscape” is exciting and full of
energy and movement. Dennis Zimmerman is a very good painter who
makes his work look effortless. I liked the unusual palette in
Barbara Rores’ “Artichoke Five” and the expressive quality it
evokes. Jeani Auseon’s “Layered Prints” is superb. “Pair Pear” by
Nancy L. Vance excels because of her use of vibrant, expressive
color.
As I walked through the gallery I saw many more pieces that were
delightful such as Ann Mirel’s painting “The Black Hat", and
“Against the Screen” by Ernest Lockridge. Amy Householder, Bill
Westerman, Dianne Schmeitzel Bauman, Inga Smith, Gary Chaconas and
Deb Haller all exhibited wonderful work. Had more awards been
available, these people would have received them. |
