working in oil and has worked with jewelry making,

in pastels.
Welcome to our newest members.
Membership Chairman, Chuck Zelms,

individual members, 26 family members, and 4 honorary

that there had been many expenditures the last couple of
months.
Jim Glover continued the meeting
with the following business items:
Carol Hershey of the High Rd.
Gallery announced the show of photography for February,
2112, which includes four WAAL members. She invited all to
visit the gallery to see the exhibit. Carol announced the
May WAAL show would be chaired by Jayne Hopper and the show
name is "Best Blooming Show in the City". Carol encourage
artists to have fun with their art for this all media show.
Dennis Velco, who is now the
coordinator for the local Five Venues for art display, is
encouraging members, especially newer members, to sign up to
display work in these business venues. He wants artists who
have signed up to call him a week or so before the exhibit
in a venue so he can better coordinate the artist with the
business. For more information artists can refer to WAAL
newsletters or the webite.
Bill Westerman announced the
People's Choice award for the current WAAL show at the
McConnel Arts Center (MAC). The winner is Richard Clem and

Japan in April to help organize the exhange art show with
Sayama, the sister city of Worthington. The show will be

to ship. Bill has requested that you submit a photograph of
your art piece to be juried for this show. In July Bill
will returen to Japan with MAC art director Jon Cook to set
up the show in Sayama. Bill encourages WAAL artists to
reflect the USA in the their work as opposed to an Asian
theme.

her courses offered for the upcoming months. For details
one can refer to the WAAL newsletters or our website.
Jim Glover closed the business
meeting. Refreshments were served.
Ron Porta announced our program
presenters Blair Davis and Cynthia Tinapple, a local married
team who coordinate their contrasting art styles to create
beautiful art object. Blair is a wood craftsman, often
recoginized for his wood turned bowls and drums. Cynthia
has developed her skills for working with polymer
clay, incorporating various creations of her own designs to
make jewelry and other decorative art. Blair and Cynthia
have developed a unique way of combining Blair's wood turned
art objects with Cynthia's decorative trim. They know of no
other artist working with such a combination. We thank them
for their fascinating presentation of their art techniques
and final products.
