A native
of Ohio, Janet graduated from Lorain High School and Baldwin-Wallace
College. She has taught in three Ohio school systems and now lives
in Westerville.
Currently, Janet is a board member of the Worthington Area Art
League, and she has served as president in the past. She is a
member of the Westerville Art league and the Central Ohio Watercolor
Society.
While
teaching art at Reynoldsburg High School in 1974, Janet took her
first watercolor class from Leland McClelland. Soon watercolor
became Janet’s medium of choice.
She has
taken classes and workshops from many watercolorists in Columbus
and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Each artist has something different
to offer, and by studying many techniques, Janet has developed her
own bright, crisp style.
As a
freelance artist, Janet has been commissioned to paint houses,
historical buildings, businesses, boats, cars, florals, people and
pets. Her paintings of the Ohio Bicentennial Barns appeared on 19
phonebook covers around the state. Her painting of the Ohio State
Capital was featured on the 2003 holiday card for Governor Taft’s
staff. Recent commissions include Velvet Ice Cream’s Ye Olde Mill,
which appeared on their cards and packaging, the Burton Morgan
center at Denison University and the Granville Inn.
Janet’s paintings can also be seen on
www.KathysCareCards.com. Kathy’s Care
Cards were created by Kathy Boston, R.N., to fill the void between
“Get Well” and “Sympathy” cards for victims and survivors of cancer
and other terminal illnesses. Janet, along with other artists,
donated original artwork for the cards. Please visit

that expresses new messages of hope, healing and love.
