     I currently work with permanent dyes on cloth using "wet"
and "dry" processes. The serendipitous, complex interactions of liquid dyes
on cloth "free" me from the intent to produce literal images. The use of
labor-intensive, process-driven approaches challenges me to create illusions
of movement, balance, and depth on a 2-D surface. Processes such as
printing, painting, collage, metal leaf application, and stitching define
and embellish my compositions. Ultimately the meanings of my artworks are
created individually by viewers - as they engage with each creation.
Recognizing that my images can have multiple meanings brings me great satisfaction.
