studying art at Mexico City College, Mexico, John developed his own "open
wash" style with watercolor. Fresh, lively and exciting, his delicate
mosaics are created by using careful washes of color on white background. His
paintings exhibit his joyful approach to life and his devotion to human kind
while bright, optimistic colors express the artist's constructive outlook.
Originally concentrating on landscapes, Behling now works with all types of
subject matter. Like the "California Style" his work typifies, many of
his paintings reaffirm the cultural values reminiscent of the industrial age. A
member of the Worthington Area Art League and the Ohio Watercolor Society, John
is active in numerous other art organizations. He has shown his work
extensively, and it has garnered many awards. His paintings are part of both
