Katie Fowle

These pieces are the results of my recent return to the fine arts. I graduated with a minor in art from Bowling Green State University in 1972 and have taken numerous classes and workshops since then, including a year at Columbus College of Art and Design. However I had not begun to do any "serious" art until 1999 when I was diagnosed with and treated for breast cancer. My goal is now to grow in my art. It is still in the experimental stage. My greatest joy is to put down color and play with it. I especially love the purples, mauves and blues that one sees in a morning or evening shadow, when they are long, or in the distant hills of a landscape. I love the morning or evening light as it backlights leaves and hair. And I especially like making up colors that I imagine are there or that I see in my mind’s eye! My one rule is:
Definitely stop and smell the roses,
and paint them too!
