Artist -  Kitty Konicsak

I have a lifelong interest in art. In the course of my travels, I studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and the Slade School of Fine Arts in London. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from McGill University in Montreal and an M.A. degree with a major in Painting from Ohio State University.

In my pictures, I walk the line between representation and abstraction that questions conventional reality. I start with an idea, and meaning evolves throughout the process. The process involves a combination of techniques: drawing and painting from nature, photographic images, fantasy, and digital manipulation.

I try to reconcile a constant tug-of-war between complexity and simplicity to create the desired expression of my idea.

My pictures evolve through a system of lines, texture, pattern, shape and color. The end result is a digital print enhanced with pastel accents.
