Artist:  MELISSA TAYLOR

After moving frequently around Pennsylvania,
Minnesota, Indiana, Ohio, Iowa and West Virginia,
I seemed to have settled in the Central Ohio Area.

I graduated from Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a
degree in Advertising, and decided I didn't like
Advertising or 9 to 5 jobs.

I've been freelancing for about 25 years, doing T-shirt
design, Point-of-Purchase displays, theater
(costumes and props), and murals. I love variety and
anything that involves making something.

About 3 years ago I finally started concentrating on
paintings. Mostly self taught, I studied painting at Columbus College of Art and Design and Watercolor, Airbrush, and Drawing at Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

I have been getting into abstracts lately... digital
stuff, quilting paper, etc... the freedom of
non-representational art is captivating... but my desire to
capture a particular scene, a moment in time, or the
character in a face will always be my first love.
