I am an Ohio artist, and
avid learner.
Art scholarships brought
me to the Andrews School for Girls in Willoughby, Ohio and the Art
Institute of Akron. I attended Kent State University, Columbus College or
Art and Design, and the Cape Cod School of Art, I've taken advantage of
the opportunity to study with some wonderful teachers, including; Adele
Chafetz, Marvin Triguba, Daniel Smith, Paul Milia, Virginia Cobb,
Katherine Chang Liu-, Pat San Souci and most recently Paul Heussenstaum
and internationally known mandala painter.
I began my career as a
portrait painter and then moved to watercolor and pastel painting. In
2000, I opened Merry Nova Studio in Worthington, Ohio where I offer
classes in collage, layering, watercolor and mandalas. These classes
provide a highly supportive space for both advanced and beginning artists.
My work has been in many
shows, including four solo shows. I am affiliated with the Worthington
Area Art League, Central Ohio Watercolor Society, the Ohio Watercolor
Society and the Society of Layerists in Multi Media.
My focus in on art as a
spiritual expression. My goals are to continue my spiritual unfolding
through art and to help others bring art into play on their spiritual
journeys
