GOT ART
If your walls are bare, if there is room to spare, you need art! If your home’s not done, just for fun, you need art! Get it April 26 at the SUNBURY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH ART FAIR. This is an excellent opportunity for the novice or serious art collector to begin or add to an existing art collection. From 9 a.m.-4 p.m. the church will be packed with artists in watercolors, oils, pastels, and multi-media (sculpture, glass, photography) competing for awards and offering art lovers an opportunity to view and purchase original works of art. This is a juried art event designed to attract retail business to the Sunbury area. It is an indoor show, held just prior to the start of the “outdoor art season”. Proceeds will benefit the needy both locally and internationally. The church is located at the intersection of Routes 3 and 36/37 and as such is a gateway to the Sunbury Square shopping area. The organizers hope to make this exciting art event an annual affair. This will add another Sunbury event to the existing Farmer’s Market and summer holiday antique and flea markets, highlighting Sunbury as the place to shop for the unique and unusual. Sponsorships are available to underwrite the event and provide awards to the artists; large cash awards will attract more quality artists each year, as the event becomes well known. Area business are being asked to support the event with $50, $100, and $200 sponsorships; the sponsorship may also be designated as an award in any of the featured art categories of oils and acrylics, watercolor, or multimedia, or Best Of Show. Sponsorships by individuals, groups or businesses will receive recognition at the show. We look forwarded to seeing you at the Art Fair and the lunch April 26, 2008.
