BEST OF SHOW
Dennis Zimmerman
Watercolor
Cotton-Picken Tree
Dazzling watercolor (Cotton Pick¹n Tree) really captures the sense of light and movement as one may find driving on a country road under a bright autumn sky.

FIRST PLACE
Ron Porta
Photography
Foggy Autumn Dawn
Captures light and an altogether different mood in his excellent photograph of Foggy Antrim Morning. A digital photo that has a wonderful quality of tone that makes me think of some early photographers.

2ND PLACE
Richard Clem
Oil
December Red & Green
Direct, plein air painting, December Red and Green  has a wonderful pattern and design that supports a lively handling and a chromatic palette that often is difficult to use.

3RD PLACE

Renate Burgyan-Fackler
Bronze
La Gioconda
To make the very challenging medium of bronze dance and swing with a breezy quality is no mean feat, but Renate Burgyan-Fackler has managed just that in her bronze sculpture, La Gioconda.

HONORABLE MENTIONS
Among the Honorable Mentions are many works deserving extra attention.  Sherry Mullett¹s Amish Country Autumn has a sophisticated palette and great sense of space.  Jim Glover nails the essence of plein air painting with Fading Light. Charles Rowland (Streets of London) and Vivian Ripley (Northern Overlook) handle watercolor and pastel respectively in a classic manner free of ³tricks of technique² in a most satisfying way. Bob Tanner¹s Molly has a great pattern and subtle palette, it reminds me of an early work by the great Bob Peak.  Finally, Gary Chaconas¹ highly charged brush and vibrant color aid the strong structure and design of Spring Rock Creek Park.
